Manicure Monday- Kiko Milano Nail Lacquer 295

For years now, I have a Sunday night routine which involves me painting my nails, and I thought why not do a mini review on the nail varnish I've chosen each week.

So the first nail varnish I have decided to choose wasn't something I decided to apply last night... Last Sunday I applied a different nail varnish and I was so dissapointed in it that it was off by Tuseday and replaced by this one. I never normally skip my Sunday night routine but last night I felt I could, as this nail varnish was just as good as when I applied it almost a week ago.

Now, you're probably wondering what this little beauty is... Something that hasn't chipped or come off within 5 days of applying and still has the same finish and hasn't weakened my nails. Well Kiko Milano has alot to answer for

In my Salou Travel Journal I wrote about my visit to Barcalona and i had a field day in the Marina Shopping Mall, especially in Kiko Milano- seriously, I bought 11 products under 25 Euros HOW GOOD IS THAT!!! I ended up buying 4 nail varnishes and one is definetely my favourite from my selection. This is the nail lacquer in the shade 295 which such a bright cyan blue, I do have other colours like this but this is just in a different league. Like I said before I have had this varnish on for over a week and the staying power is just fantastic. I only applied 2 coats of this and I'm just astounded by how long it's lasted and how bright and glossy it is without applying a top coat. It's simple but sleek packaging is desirable for all and the brush is a great size for applying 3strips down your nail, it isn't too thick and not too long to loose control of the brush. It also dried reasonably fast aswell and doesn't have an awfully strong smell. And how can I not forget the price... It was only €1.90 in Spain!

There's nothing really more I can say about this varnish, I can praise it's staying power enough. Kiko can so easily be lost in the beauty market and a lot of people seem to forget how amazing their products are, and this is one that shouldn't be forgotten. I recently found out that they are bringing a Kiko Milano store to Newcastle and I am so beyond excited about it as I can buy more of their amazing products right on my doorstep and love them more and more.

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation and Radiant Creamy Concealer Review

When it comes to make up I always feel like the base is the one thing you need to get right to make the rest of your make up look good. That is why I always like to experiment with different primers, foundations, concealers and powders to find my ideal combinations for different occasions. After constantly seeing Nars Sheer Glow bombing around pretty much everywhere online, I decided to go into my local John Lewis (on more than one occasion) get colour matched. After toying between the samples of Deauville and Fiji for way too long, I decided to go back to John Lewis for one last time to get their opinion. After a problem in store, the girls on the counter decided to give me a full base makeover and, lets just say, I was very impressed and stuff went on my Christmas list.

My New Year Favourites

Happy New Year! 2017 was a year where I did some pretty awesome things; I graduated my MA with distinction, I was part of a team which raised £60k for charity, I got to do more travelling this year. However this year has also come with a lot of self-reflection and a lot of wake up calls. I am going into 2018 feeling lost in the world of work; with no more education to turn to and trying to find my place in society to earn a living. It's stressful and is tough, however, temporary as I am keeping positive and something will come my way! 2017 has been great for self-reflection and really focusing on myself, what I want and what I enjoy. Anyways, enough self-reflection for now! I wanted to kick start 2018 off by sharing with you some of my favourite things that are coming into the new year with me that I have been loving, will continue to use and recommend to you guys!

Mani of the Month: Primark PS Nudes Nail Polish Set

It's no secret that I love painting my own nails. It's a way for me to relax as well as being therapeutic for me. I am often complimented on my nails and asked where I get them done, only to see their shock and surprise at the fact that I do them myself and that they aren't fake! I honestly feel like my choices of nail polish reflect how people react- if I am wearing a polish which looks streaky and tacky people notice, however when my nails are done well, and with good quality polishes which are 'on trend' colours then that is when I get the most compliments. And at the moment that 'on trend' colour is anything nude. I love nude nails, and for me, I really struggle to find the perfect nude nail polish; or any kind of nude beauty products for that matter! So when I was having a scout around good old Primarni, I came across this little set of nude nail polishes. They look lovely, don't they...
