It's no secret that I love painting my own nails. It's a way for me to relax as well as being therapeutic for me. I am often complimented on my nails and asked where I get them done, only to see their shock and surprise at the fact that I do them myself and that they aren't fake! I honestly feel like my choices of nail polish reflect how people react- if I am wearing a polish which looks streaky and tacky people notice, however when my nails are done well, and with good quality polishes which are 'on trend' colours then that is when I get the most compliments. And at the moment that 'on trend' colour is anything nude.
I love nude nails, and for me, I really struggle to find the perfect nude nail polish; or any kind of nude beauty products for that matter! So when I was having a scout around good old Primarni, I came across this little set of nude nail polishes. They look lovely, don't they...
However I had tried some of Primark's own nail polishes before from their PS range and I wasn't impressed with the formula, how they felt on my nails, their staying power and the damage that they did when removing it! However, I was really drawn to this set of 3 very lovely looking nudes, I don't have any other colours like this and I just wanted to see if the colours suited me. And because they were only £2 for the pack of 3, if I really hated them then I could just bin them without feeling bad about spending an arm and a leg. And I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised!
Admittedly, I did set my expectations for these very low after my past experience, but Primark have really upped their game with their beauty line recently and it is certainly reflected in these nail polishes. So far, I have only the pink toned polish and I was impressed with the way it applied, I would even say that the application was of a similar standard to my Kiko polishes- and you know how much I love them so that is quite a bold statement! 2 coats are required to get full pigmentation but they are an accurate representation of what the colour is like in the bottle.
As well as being impressed with the consistency and the formula, one thing that I was impressed with was the staying power. Considering that before this polish I was wearing a Rimmel polish which was chipped after lass than 1 day of wear, I had this polish on for 5 days and there has been no major damage to my nails or any major chipping! There has been some minor wear and tear when I look up close, like if you look at my thumb really close in this image, but it's not obvious- and considering that I have worn this polish for almost a week now, compared to other polishes (such as the Rimmel one) this is one of the better polishes I have in my collection for staying power.
In terms of personal preference, I never wear pink on my nails but this is a beautiful nude pink that I have really enjoyed wearing which can go with many outfit choices and I am excited to try the other colours from this little set. And for £2, this is such a steal! This is a relatively new product to the PS range, and I feel like the colours that are in this set will attract a lot of people, so if you are interested in this then I would pick one up when you can as I feel like they will sell quite fast. And for those who have also had bad experiences in the past with Primark's beauty range, I urge you to give it another shot... You may be pleasantly surprised.
