I bought these quite a while back and have never got around to reviewing them until now...
So this purchase came about because my Real Techniques stippling brush broke- I know, gutted! So when my mam advised me to try and look for a new brand incase a new one would break again, I decided to look into Nanshy as I had heard good things about their brushes from Youtubers such as TheMaddieBruce, JustJodes and NatashaSummer. But when I went on the website I thought to myself "why buy one brush for £8 when I can buy 13 for £35" and then this happened...
The Nanshy Luxury Makeup Brush Set drew to me straight away due to the vast amount of brushes in the pack, I was dying for some new eye brushes and the variety of brushes in this set meant that every one of them had a use. I also LOVE the stylish clutch bag that the come in, it's hard to believe that there are 13 brushes in there! The brand is also cruelty free, all brushes are synthetic and they are 100% vegan and against animal cruelty which is also a massive plus point for me.
Apologies for the bad quality photo but all the brushes come in the bag like this and have an extra flap to cover the bristles (tucked behind the back) for extra protection. The set includes the following brushes:
-liner brush
-small shadow brush
-crease brush
-shadow brush
-fluffy shadow blending brush
-concealer brush
-eyelash/eyebrow spoolie
-angled brow brush
-angled shadow brush
-angled blush brush
-foundation brush
-powder blush
-powder/foundation brush
Now the only problem I really had with these brushes in the beginning was that they wernt labeled and being new to using many different eyeshadow brushes it would have been good to have them labeled without making my own assumptions on what each brush is called. However, what really stood out to me was the shape of the brushes as they don't have your bog-standard handle
The handle's are described on the packaging as 'ergonomic' and are there to provide easier application and I have to say that I did agree with this when I was testing out the brushes.
I decided to try these for the first time when I was going on a night out, it gave me the chance to use each one and see what they were like. First things first, they're so soft! I was almost too scared to use them because it didn't want the softness to go once I had them covered in product. But when I used the powder/foundation brush (I assume) I can only really describe the feeling on my face as being like a feather, they are so lightweight but apply the product so well. Even the eye brushes applied and blended product like a dream, and because the brushes are synthetic there was hardly any fall out when I used powder based products, and I managed to use every brush to complete my complex eye makeup look (sorry I don't have a picture).
Now the next day I decided to wash them to see if they would get the original soft texture back and even though it took a while to rinse all of the product out, they still felt as fluffy and feather like as the previous day. I suppose it is good that it took a while to get all the product out of the brushes in a way, because the bristles are white and you can see what is left whereas with dark brissle brushes you might think that you have washed all the product out when really there is still lots left.
Overall I am very impressed with the quality of these brushes, I'm still slowly working out which brush is which but I think they are great if anyone is beginning to expand their brush collection and wants an inexpensive collection which is easy to travel with then this is the one.
Do you own any Nanshy brushes? What make-up brushes do you enjoy using? Let me know in the comments, or Tweet me @Elisa_A__
