What To Take On Holiday

AHHHHH!!! In 2 days I will be in sunny Spain! But I've still got to do the dreaded chore that always comes before getting on the plane to soak up the sunshine... Packing. Yes we all hate it, but its gotta be done. Every year I always end up writing lists of things I need to take, making sure I don't forget anything and frantically worrying that I've always forgotten something. So I thought I would make a list (because I love them so much) and put it on here and share with you what I like to take with me on my holiday.

CLOTHING. This always differs depending on how long you're away for, the country's religionpersonal style etc. The way I look at it is by taking the 7 day rule- have 1 outfit for each of the 7 days and if you are there for longer you can always hand wash them when you are there. With evening outfits I usually take 4 and can wear them again. But here is what I usually take for a 7 day beach holiday...
Underwear (usually 9 sets)
Bikini's (2)
Cotton playsuit (2 or 3, great for throwing over your bikini)
Shorts (4)
T shirts (5)
Evening playsuits (2, great for space saving)
Dress (1, no need to worry about coordinating tops and bottoms)
Trousers (just in case)
Cardigans (2, one black and one white)
Pyjamas
SHOES. I usually take flat shoes to save space in my case, and I opt for black and white because those colours go with everything
Plimpsoles (Primark's £3 holy grail ones, one black pair and one white)
Black pumps
Flip-flops (one black one white)
Beige wedges
MISCELLANEOUS
iPod
Tablet
Speaker
Jewellery
Books/magazine
Pen and paper
Pack of cards
Camera
Sewing kit
Travel buddy (cuddly toy monkey)
OTHER TIPS
-Literally only take what you will need, think realistically about what you will be doing and how long you will be there
-Prepare the clothes you are traveling in before the day of travel (I usually opt for a vest top and some printed joggers and a denim jacket).
-Think about how long your flight will be. If you are only on the flight for a couple of hours you won't need much to keep you entertained, maybe download a film onto your tablet and you're set for the journey.

What do you like to take on holiday? Have I forgotten to pack anything? Let me know in the comments, or Tweet me @Elisa_A__

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation and Radiant Creamy Concealer Review

When it comes to make up I always feel like the base is the one thing you need to get right to make the rest of your make up look good. That is why I always like to experiment with different primers, foundations, concealers and powders to find my ideal combinations for different occasions. After constantly seeing Nars Sheer Glow bombing around pretty much everywhere online, I decided to go into my local John Lewis (on more than one occasion) get colour matched. After toying between the samples of Deauville and Fiji for way too long, I decided to go back to John Lewis for one last time to get their opinion. After a problem in store, the girls on the counter decided to give me a full base makeover and, lets just say, I was very impressed and stuff went on my Christmas list.

My New Year Favourites

Happy New Year! 2017 was a year where I did some pretty awesome things; I graduated my MA with distinction, I was part of a team which raised £60k for charity, I got to do more travelling this year. However this year has also come with a lot of self-reflection and a lot of wake up calls. I am going into 2018 feeling lost in the world of work; with no more education to turn to and trying to find my place in society to earn a living. It's stressful and is tough, however, temporary as I am keeping positive and something will come my way! 2017 has been great for self-reflection and really focusing on myself, what I want and what I enjoy. Anyways, enough self-reflection for now! I wanted to kick start 2018 off by sharing with you some of my favourite things that are coming into the new year with me that I have been loving, will continue to use and recommend to you guys!

Mani of the Month: Primark PS Nudes Nail Polish Set

It's no secret that I love painting my own nails. It's a way for me to relax as well as being therapeutic for me. I am often complimented on my nails and asked where I get them done, only to see their shock and surprise at the fact that I do them myself and that they aren't fake! I honestly feel like my choices of nail polish reflect how people react- if I am wearing a polish which looks streaky and tacky people notice, however when my nails are done well, and with good quality polishes which are 'on trend' colours then that is when I get the most compliments. And at the moment that 'on trend' colour is anything nude. I love nude nails, and for me, I really struggle to find the perfect nude nail polish; or any kind of nude beauty products for that matter! So when I was having a scout around good old Primarni, I came across this little set of nude nail polishes. They look lovely, don't they...
