It seems that I have been hoarding more and more lipsticks every year, this year I decided enough was enough. Instead of going out to buy numerous Autumnal lipsticks for this season, I decided to actually make use of the ones that I already own. So when I was sorting through all my lipsticks, I never really knew how many lovely colours I had which would be great for this season. So today, I have decided to share them with you. In particular, 5 of my favourite high street picks which you will be able to find easily in Boots or Superdrug. I have chosen a range of high street lip products that range in different
prices. Now I'm not the biggest fan of the 'dark berry lip' as I feel
like it washes me out too much and is too bold for my liking. So here
are some alternatives to that trend which I think will be great for the
Autumn season which won't break the bank.
Now, the first product I have chosen is the cheapest from the 5. It is from Boots own range; it is the Natural Collection Lip Lines Pencil in Plum. Don't be fooled by the fact that this is only a lip liner that is £1.99, this thing is good! The colour pay off is fab and they last a really long time on the lips. They care surprisingly moisturising and glide on the lips so easily; you could easily mistake one of these as a matte lipstick when you wear it, and feels so light. They come in a number of different shades but Plum is stunning for the AW season.

My next pick is by Rimmel, it is their classic Lasting Finish lipstick in the shade Starry Eyed. I really enjoy using these lipsticks, they are pigmented and apply to the lips very nicely, I don't believe their claim that they last all day, you do need to reapply them throughout the day but I don't mind that. I really enjoy this line of lipsticks, I have about 6 of them in total, all with a different range of finishes. Starry Eyed is a lovely berry colour that isn't too out there and has a nice sheen to it so it isn't drying on the lips. I find that berry shades are harder to wear when they are a matte finish, because this is more of a MAC Lustre finish, I find this a lot easier to wear and it feels so comfortable on the lips.

Moving on to another formula, these have been hyped all over but for good reason. If you think Starry Eyed is still too much for you, I would highly recommend the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creme in Rome. Hell, even you like Starry Eyed get this! I absolutely love the SMLC's because they feel like nothing is on your lips, they're so lightweight! They give a matte finish and they aren't drying on the lips and last a really long time. The shade range of these is great, I already own quite a few, but I really enjoy using Rome for the colder months, it's not too out there but it is still really pretty. If you are trying to venture out into darker lip colours this is a great product to start with as it is a softer colour which isn't too bold.

Autumn isn't all about the berry shades, I really enjoy wearing brown colours in the colder seasons. And one of my all time favourite lip products is the Revlon Matte Balms. I love using these when my lips are super dry but want to wear a matte lip which doesn't emphasise how dry your lips are, because these are exactly what they say on the tin. These chubby sticks are velvet smooth and so easy to apply, and i can't comprehend how moisturising they are without looking patchy. They are very long wearing and maintain their finish throughout the day. The shade Fierce Redoutable is a warm, dark brown with red/yellow undertones and is a great alternative to the berry lip, however they do offer a range of other shades if this is too dark for your liking. They also smell like mint!

And finally, something which I feel gets no hype online but really deserves it is the Max Factor Lipfinity kits. These apply the same as a liquid lipstick, and they claim to last 12 hours. They offer a matte finish however the kit also comes with a shine boosting top coat so you can change the finish of them if you like. These things are indestructible, Max Factor don't lie when they say that they are long lasting. This will still be on my lips the next morning after a heavy night of drinking, they do recommend you use an oil based remover to take them off. I really like these as a drugstore alternative to the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks but with a thicker consistency. They come in a range of colours, my favourite one is Spicy, it is a warm chestnut red with yellow undertones but it looks lovely in the colder seasons and doesn't dry your lips out.

Now, I would have done lip swatches, however my camera has been playing up so I just had to do swatches on my arm of all the products that I used , so I do apologise for that. All the products have been swatched in the order I have place them in this post (L-R) and the prices in the caption are all from boots.com. However, I hope this post was helpful and that you are tempted by some new Autumn lip colours.
What is your favourite of my personal picks? What other high street lip products would you recommend to me? Let me know in the comments or Tweet me @Elisa_A__
