Updated MAC Lipstick Collection

As you may know, last year my obsession with MAC lipsticks began, and over the past year... well you can say it has got a little bit out of hand. I did this same post last year with 6 lipsticks, and now just over 1 year later I DIYed a lipstick holder suitable for 28 lipsticks and I have almost filled it up... so I thought that it was only right that I did an updated MAC Lipstick Collection. I do have a couple more lipsticks that aren't in the holder which I have included in this list, but I haven't included my Retro Matte Liquid Lipstick in 'Oh, Lady'. I like to keep all my MAC lipsticks together on display in my DIY; the box is from a Ted Baker gift set I got for Christmas and I just made my own seperators and poped them inside the box... I think it looks good.

Jubilee (Lustre Finish). This is a really nice nude with a sheer finish. Perfect for every day wear, this is one of my favourites.
Honey Love (Matte Finish). This lipstick is a light beige with a pinky hue in it. I love to pair this with a darker lipliner.
Velvet Teddy (Matte Finish). This was my first ever MAC lipstick and I still love it to this day. I gave it a full review here: http://iamyournotsoaveragegirl.blogspot.co.uk/2014/12/mac-velvet-teddy-lipstick-review.html
Mocha (Satin Finish). A more recent addition to my collection. A dark brown nude with yellow based undertones. I can see this becoming a fast favourite.
Taupe (Matte Finish). Very similar to Mocah, just slightly darker with a cooler undertone. I really like this one and wear it a lot.
Retro (Satin Finish). This is another nude, but leaning towards a dark red/brown. I really like to wear this one in the winter months.
Creme in Your Coffee (Cremesheen Finish). Love, love, love this one! If you are worried about any of the previous shades being too bold but still want to venture into trying brown based nudes, then this is the one for you! The cremesheen finish makes this one such a beautiful every day lipstick.
Viva Glam V (Lustre Finish). My first lipstick I bought from the Viva Glam range, this range donates their profits to help those with AIDS. A sheen of pinky nude with flecks of sparkle.
Hue (Glaze Finish). To be honest, I'm not really a fan of this one. Its a peachy nude but I hate the way this looks on my lips; even in the swatch it looks cakey and patchy which is wrong for a glaze finish.
Costa Chic (Frost Finish). My only Frost lipstick, a bright pinky coral shade which is perfect for the Summer. Shame it doesn't really suit my skintone.
Viva Glam II (Satin Finish). A very cool toned nude. I feel lke this is the cool version of Honeylove but with hints of pink/mauve. I really need to start experimenting with this one more to make it work for me.
Faux (Satin Finish). Another one which I am trying to make work. A lovely pinky nude which is many peoples 'my lips but better' shade, but I find it very light on my lips. Try with a lipliner maybe...
Brave (Satin Finish). Very similar to Faux, just slightly more pink which works for me better than Faux. I like to wear this one when I feel really girly.
Twig (Satin Finish). This was my second ever MAC lipstick that I bought and it is still one of my favourites. The next shade darker than Brave, I really really like this mauve-y nude.
Cosmo (Amplified Finish). I used to love this one and I really need to get back into this. I love the amplified finish, this is slightly lighter than Twig. Love this for an opaque neutral lip.
Plumful (Lustre Finish). Another favourite for the Winter which would be a good starter for anyone venturing into darker berry toned lips. A dark pink/berry which I really love for every day wear.
Capricious (Lustre Finish). Like above, perfect for those wanting to get into wearing red lips. I feel that Lustre finishes are great for people trying to get into wearing bold colours as they are sheer but still offer the colour. Love Capricious!
Rebel (Satin Finish). A dark pinky/purple which is a cult favourite. There is a reason why this is one of MAC's best sellers, it is so unique! This colour looks different on everyone and I love it when I am wearing an all black outfit.
D for Danger (Matte Finish). As above, I love this one with an all black outfit. A beautiful dark pink with a red undertone, it can be slightly drying but wear it with a lipliner and it will look awesome!
Hot Tahiti (Glaze Finish). This was my first red lipstick from MAC to try and get into wearing red lips. It is very sheer and I really like it, but I'm gutted that it is broken so I don't wear it as much as I would like.
Party Line (Cremesheen Finish). I'd say that this is a darker version of Capricious and Hot Tahiti mixed together with a more opaque finish. I wore this one on Christmas Day!
Cardinal (Satin Finish). This lipstick was in a special collection and I ordered it online and it looked nothing like the online swatches! This is a cool toned red with pinky undertones. I honestly don't get much wear out of this one as I prefer a sheer red lip. I might wear this one for a panto or a show one year.
Chili (Matte Finish). This one is an acception. I love Chili, it is such a unique red with a burnt orange/teracotta mix to it. It suprisingly isn't that drying considering it's a Matte finish.
Sin (Matte Finish). I like to wear this one in the Winter on the odd occasion. Such a vampy brown-ish red. It is very matte though and I do find it drying  so I do have to use a lipliner underneath so it doesn't bleed.
Paramount (Satin Finish). Another one I bust out on the odd occasion. A dark brown with a warm undertone, I had tried Stone but I hated the way it looked on me so I swapped it for Paramount.

I don't have a swatch of Verve or See Sheer unfortunately but I will still discuss them as they are new to my collection:

Verve (Satin Finish). This is the colour you need if you want a cool toned brown but don't like Stone. I only recently discovered this one and it looks so nice. Not as red toned as Paramount, but it really ia a nice shade.

See Sheer (Lustre Finish). This is a great summer colour, a sheer red toned coral which I absoloutlely love. I don't own anything like this at all.

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation and Radiant Creamy Concealer Review

When it comes to make up I always feel like the base is the one thing you need to get right to make the rest of your make up look good. That is why I always like to experiment with different primers, foundations, concealers and powders to find my ideal combinations for different occasions. After constantly seeing Nars Sheer Glow bombing around pretty much everywhere online, I decided to go into my local John Lewis (on more than one occasion) get colour matched. After toying between the samples of Deauville and Fiji for way too long, I decided to go back to John Lewis for one last time to get their opinion. After a problem in store, the girls on the counter decided to give me a full base makeover and, lets just say, I was very impressed and stuff went on my Christmas list.

My New Year Favourites

Happy New Year! 2017 was a year where I did some pretty awesome things; I graduated my MA with distinction, I was part of a team which raised £60k for charity, I got to do more travelling this year. However this year has also come with a lot of self-reflection and a lot of wake up calls. I am going into 2018 feeling lost in the world of work; with no more education to turn to and trying to find my place in society to earn a living. It's stressful and is tough, however, temporary as I am keeping positive and something will come my way! 2017 has been great for self-reflection and really focusing on myself, what I want and what I enjoy. Anyways, enough self-reflection for now! I wanted to kick start 2018 off by sharing with you some of my favourite things that are coming into the new year with me that I have been loving, will continue to use and recommend to you guys!

Mani of the Month: Primark PS Nudes Nail Polish Set

It's no secret that I love painting my own nails. It's a way for me to relax as well as being therapeutic for me. I am often complimented on my nails and asked where I get them done, only to see their shock and surprise at the fact that I do them myself and that they aren't fake! I honestly feel like my choices of nail polish reflect how people react- if I am wearing a polish which looks streaky and tacky people notice, however when my nails are done well, and with good quality polishes which are 'on trend' colours then that is when I get the most compliments. And at the moment that 'on trend' colour is anything nude. I love nude nails, and for me, I really struggle to find the perfect nude nail polish; or any kind of nude beauty products for that matter! So when I was having a scout around good old Primarni, I came across this little set of nude nail polishes. They look lovely, don't they...
