One of the things I really want to do is start making my blog a lot more personable. I feel like, unless you know me in person, not many of you know about the type of person I am; who I am, what I do, my passions- because I am passionate about many things, almost too many things that take up so much of my time...
Let's put some things into perspective. I am currently studying a full time Masters at university- involving a work placement, I have 2 part time jobs, I am on 3 volunteering committees in the Students' Union in addition to being involved in numerous other activities including the gym. I'm a busy bee! But I am a very tired busy bee...
It is becoming a rarity that I get free time to chill out or relax to take time to myself. As much as I try to surround myself with positive people, the odd one negative person who impacts this organised chaos, which I like to call my life, can get me very stressed and tired very quickly.
Very recently, I received a small token gift of a friend which really reminded me of how lucky I am in life- the amazing people who surround me, the opportunities I have been granted (see the image above; I met and interviewed George Shelley!) and the achievements that I have made, finding my passions and new reasons to keep going.
I love being busy, but sometimes negativity can really impact on your motivation to strive to be the best version of you that you can be. You want to keep going but your body and your mind is just even more exhausted than it has ever been, and all you wish is for that one piece of negativity to be done with, counting down the days until you don't have to deal with it anymore.
Everyone has it though; one person, one thought, one memory or just something that can really bring a grey cloud over your sunshine. This is why it is important to keep going, and keep achieving and to battle the negativity. Because once you win, that's when you become the bigger and better person you have always been striving to become.
So what do you do when life gets in your way? You bring out your inner fighter, you knock down that wall that is holding you back and you keep striving forward. You can take a momentary comfort break- an evening or a weekend, because this is normal. No matter how busy your life gets and how hectic it can be- you are in the drivers seat. You can brake and park up for a little while, or you can accelerate forward and drive your own path to feeling and being comfortable and surrounding yourself with the views you want to be around. For some it may take longer than others, but remember that if something brings you down, you are the one in charge of getting back up and running.
