2015... A Year Review.

It is so scary to think that 2016 is just around the corner, where has this year gone! It is also worth mentioning that alot of that time has been filled with university work, especially the past few months as I am now in my final year of full time education (terrifying I know!) so that has been taking up alot of my time, keeping me away from posting more regularly so I do apologise for that but I want to do my best in my final year of studying. With that said though, I am currently taking a little break from my uni work right now to look review how 2015 has been for me. If you have followed me for a while you might remember my post that I put around this time last year called '20 Things I Want For 2015' and its about time I have a good look at them and see how I have done...

Manicure Monday: LGBT+ Awareness

Apologies in advance, I'm aware that I have been away for some time as I have had a super busy month! But this manicure Monday will also be a brief insight to my summer job aswell, let me explain... I'm doing summer work for a company which delivers the National Citizen Service for 15-17 year olds, and they have to come up with a social action project which can help make a difference in their community. So my group decided to raise awareness of the LGBT+ community in their local area letting people aware that they are ok and accept people who do fall under any of these categories, as should others. One of the ways they made awareness was through a sponsored walk where we were all dressed in bright rainbow colours and I thought I would take advantage of my many colourful nail varnishes and paint the gay pride flag!

20 Things I Want in My 20's

If some of you know me quite well, you will know that I turned 20 on Tuesday. To be honest, I've had better birthdays- it was the first year that I have ever worked on my birthday and had Birthday plans orientated around my job which sucked a little bit, and with me working very long shifts I was far too tired to actually enjoy the day itself. Nevertheless I did get spoilt. So because I still don't really feel 20 yet I thought I would do this little personal post which would make me think about exactly what I want in this next decade of my life where I'm no longer a teenager and have abit of growing up to do...

Manicure Monday- Kiko Milano Nail Lacquer 295

For years now, I have a Sunday night routine which involves me painting my nails, and I thought why not do a mini review on the nail varnish I've chosen each week.  So the first nail varnish I have decided to choose wasn't something I decided to apply last night... Last Sunday I applied a different nail varnish and I was so dissapointed in it that it was off by Tuseday and replaced by this one. I never normally skip my Sunday night routine but last night I felt I could, as this nail varnish was just as good as when I applied it almost a week ago.  Now, you're probably wondering what this little beauty is... Something that hasn't chipped or come off within 5 days of applying and still has the same finish and hasn't weakened my nails. Well Kiko Milano has alot to answer for .

Top Tips for Living in a Student House

So when I decided to go to university, one of the things that had a bigger impact than I thought would be living in rented student accommodation. I live close enough to the university to be commuting from home however I really wanted the "full university experience" by living in halls in my first year. I nearly ended up living in halls for my second year until a course mate asked me if I wanted to live in a shared house with her and a few other people, which is what I did and now going into my third year I decided to live with my boyfriend. Now the transition from living in halls to private accommodation wasn't as bad as I expected it to be, the main difference most people have is that you have to pay for your own bills and do the research into bill providers yourselves.

My MAC Lipstick Collection

I think I have a problem... 6 months ago I had never even bought a MAC product; my mam always said to me "you can buy expensive make up when you're older". Well last Christmas I finally convinced my mam to buy me my first MAC lipstick and since that purchase they have become my new obsession. Now I personally would never go out and buy a MAC lipstick as an impulse buy; I like to do a it of research before I buy a product so expensive. I own 6 MAC lipsticks which may not be a lot to some but considering I never owned any before last Christmas I would say that it's a lot in a short space of time.

Travel Journal: Salou

Day 1 4:15am Ugh... I'm not a morning person, I rarely see this time of the morning and I was fairly surprised at how bright the sky was. But it only got me excited and feeling more awake to have my summer holiday in Spain with my boyfriend! After deciding not to buy each other Christmas presents last year, we decided to put all our money towards a summer holiday so Merry Christmas! 5am Jack and his dad came to pick me up and take us to the airport. After a quick check in and swiftly making our way through security it gave me plenty of time to drag jack around duty free looking at all the makeup before we got breakfast. 7:45am Take off! Bye bye Newcastle! The 2 hour 40minute journey didn't take long at all thanks to Don't Tell The Bride.

What To Take On Holiday

AHHHHH!!! In 2 days I will be in sunny Spain! But I've still got to do the dreaded chore that always comes before getting on the plane to soak up the sunshine... Packing. Yes we all hate it, but its gotta be done. Every year I always end up writing lists of things I need to take, making sure I don't forget anything and frantically worrying that I've always forgotten something. So I thought I would make a list (because I love them so much) and put it on here and share with you what I like to take with me on my holiday. ESSENTIALS . The must haves before you even think about stepping foot onto the plane Passport Flight Information Boarding pass (if you do online check in) Travel insurance EHIC Card Foreign currency Phone and charger Travel adaptor Glasses ( if required )

Nanshy Luxury Makeup Brush Set Review

I bought these quite a while back and have never got around to reviewing them until now... So this purchase came about because my Real Techniques stippling brush broke- I know, gutted! So when my mam advised me to try and look for a new brand incase a new one would break again, I decided to look into Nanshy as I had heard good things about their brushes from Youtubers such as TheMaddieBruce, JustJodes and NatashaSummer. But when I went on the website I thought to myself "why buy one brush for £8 when I can buy 13 for £35" and then this happened...

Sephora And Duty Free Make Up Purchases

So as are probably aware by now, I have been to Dubai for a family holiday, and I wanted to show you my most recent make up purchases that I got while I was out there and in duty free. 3 years ago I never thought I would be into makeup as much as I am now, I have been more interested in the application of makeup and from that I've been looking into different products. I personally blame YouTube, but it isn't such a bad thing...

Travel Journal: Dubai

After being back off holiday for at let's a week I have finally finished writing up my Dubai travel journal! Its been hard trying to juggle writing this and doing my uni essays so I'm sorry its late, but better late than never! I've posted a few pictures of the trip on my Instagram, but for now here's the holiday... WEDNESDAY 25th March Mid Morning So I came home from uni for the day as it was my brothers 21st birthday. Once he finally woke up and opened his cards; myself, mam and dad were getting excited for him to open his final present- his trip to Dubai. It had bene booked since January and it was so hard to try and keep it a secret from him, but I thought he knew about it and wouldn't be surprised. How wrong was I! He finally got around to opening his designer leather holdal and we were urging him to try and open it and see the flight details inside the bag.

De-Stress Season

Its coming up to that time of year again! Exams. We all feel the same about them and we would much rather not have them in our lives, however if we can't get rid of them then we will just have to deal with them the best we can! Crap isn't it? Well I've got a few different things that will help you stay organised around exam period and ways you can de-stress; particulary focusing on Revision and ensuring your Welfare is taken care of throughout this stressful time.

Queen+Adam Lambert Concert Review

Tuesday 12th January 2015. Metro Radio Arena , Newcastle When I first saw that Queen were coming to the UK I knew I had to go, no doubt about it... Until I saw the price of the tickets, please feel sorry for a poor student! It was this same reason my mam decided not to buy my dad tickets for Christmas, but when my dad told me after a long day at work that he went to buy some tickets which had been returned to the box office I just couldn't say no. I grew up with Queen, listened to all my Dad's CDs and watched all the documentaries on them.

Gift Buying for Boys

I know I've missed the boat of this post as we have just had Christmas but I thought it would still be relevant for birthdays etc, and that is gift buying for boys. No mater how close you are; whether you are buying for your boyfriend, brother, dad there is always an added pressure because (if you are like me) you just want to find the perfect gift which has had some thought put into it. The problem is you can only get a man so much aftershave! There doesn't seem to be a lot of options for men these days when it comes to gift buying and every year you encounter the same problem because its the same products advertised as they previous years. So I thought this would be a relevant post for all you females out there who have had the same problem as me when gift buying for men.
